Kent is originally from Early, Texas and is a 1996 graduate of Harding University.  He graduated with degrees in religious education and youth ministry. Kent married the former Cara Wilson of Pocahontas, Arkansas in June of 1997.  They both taught at Mobile Christian School in Mobile, Alabama for 4 years. Kent received his Master’s degree in Ministry from Southern Christian University in Montgomery, Alabama in May of 1999.  He has completed two programs in biblical counseling and has taught several classes for Faulkner University.

He served as a part-time youth minister and campus minister for the University Blvd. Church of Christ for 4 years in Mobile and was the youth and family minister for the College Avenue church of Christ from June 2001 until November 2007. He served as the Discipleship Minister and co-pulpit minister from December 2007 through June 2013.  He is currently serving as the preaching minister.    

Cara served as our Women’s and Children’s Director from October 2004 until July 2009, and is now a teacher for El Dorado Public School District.  She graduated from Harding University with a double major in Elementary and Special Education in 1997, and she earned a Master’s of Science in Education-Educational Leadership in 2020 from Arkansas State University. Kent and Cara have three children: Derek, Austin and Brylee.
