. The characteristics of a true
servant are humility, sincerity, and selflessness. A servant is marked
by the actions, character, and willingness of a person. A true servant
is willing to act when called upon and also seeks the opportunity to
serve before being asked. Rob Newsom, this month's recipient of the
Servant Towel, epitomizes these characteristics
.
In 1 Timothy 6:18, Paul tells Timothy to "Command them to do good, to be
rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share." Rob lives
out such a command.
Rob has been involved with Camp Kurios for over two decades. Leading,
counseling, and teaching for many of those years. Each year being
willing to take on any responsibility and always accepting a challenge.
Rob is involved in our Recovery Center ministry helping to transport and
impact the lives of those seeking a better tomorrow. He has set up and
been involved with numerous Bible Studies in order to bring souls to
Christ. This man leads a small group each Sunday evening with the Growth
Group ministries.
Rob is more involved with the youth of this congregation than most
realize and has a heart for our youth to be more like Christ. He will do
what ever it takes (time, money, sacrifice) to make that happen. Rob has
chaperoned multiple youth trips and events, taught youth classes, and is
an active member of our Youth Council.
Rob has also successfully raised his family to model the same
servant-like heart that he himself possesses.
