How would you like to worship with a great church and have your children’s college education paid for? 

We were already blessed here at College Avenue with a great church: loving, growing, sound in the faith and active in our community. 

And our young people were blessed with an exceptional youth program: active, involved parents;  a great Children's Minister; a super Youth Camp; and a wide range of programs for all our young people. 

Now, thanks to the El Dorado Promise, both parents and children are doubly blessed! 

Why?  Because now every child who attends the El Dorado Public Schools from kindergarten through high school will receive a full-tuition college scholarship (up to the highest tuition cost in the state of Arkansas, but the amount can be applied to any university in the country!).  Young people who attend El Dorado schools for shorter periods, since at least the ninth grade, will receive a pro-rated amount:  for more details, go to the El Dorado Promise website. 

This El Dorado Promise program is not need-based, and every young person who graduates from El Dorado High School, and who meets the basic requirements, will receive a full-tuition scholarship for up to five years of college. 

In addition to the El Dorado Promise, our church has two scholarships that are available to young people who are members of this congregation and who plan to attend Harding University:  the Wattie & Willa Hooker Memorial Scholarship Fund, and the College Avenue Scholarship Fund.  This year we awarded more than $26,500 to students from our congregation.  While this scholarship money is not guaranteed, as is the El Dorado Promise, every young person in our congregation who plans to attend Harding University is encouraged to apply for consideration.
