9th Annual Congregational Prayer Campaign
ower from God is available to those who pray. Jesus spent 40
days in the wilderness fasting in preparation for his spiritual
conflict with Satan (Matthew 4:1-3) because he understood the
need for fasting and prayer to overcome evil (Mark 11:40). If
our Lord felt the need for regular prayer, how much more should
we, as his people, be devoted to prayer (Colossians 4:2)! To
that end, our shepherds have called us to follow the example of
Jesus by spending the next 40 Days in concentrated, coordinated,
congregational prayer.
evival comes only when we humble ourselves before God (2
Chronicles 7:14). Throughout the history of God's people,
outpourings of spiritual power have been preceded by periods of
intense prayer (Acts 1:14). In this evil age we believe the
Lord's church needs to be revived by God's power. Therefore the
theme of this year's prayer campaign is
"Revive Us Again."
ll
who are willing to participate are asked to use each week's
prayer guide to pray each day for 40 days, and to pray for the
specific needs identified by the overseers of our church family.
Prayer items are labeled either PR (Praise), IN (Intercession),
SG (Spiritual Growth), CF (Confession), or MN (Ministry Needs).
